Blue Laws
A blue law is one restricting activities or sales of goods on Sunday, to accommodate the Christian sabbath. The first blue law in the American colonies was enacted in Virginia in 1617.

It was called "blue laws" because it was originally printed on blue paper. However, there is no evidence to support the assertion. Instead, the word blue was commonly used in the 18th century as a disparaging reference to rigid moral codes and those who observed them.

Other early blue laws prohibited work, travel, recreation, and activities such as cooking, shaving, cutting hair, wearing either lace or precious metals, sweeping, making beds, kissing, and engaging in sexual intercourse on Sunday.

Blue-Ringed Octopus
Blue-Ringed Octopus is extremely poisonous. It has the size of a golf ball but its poison is powerful enough to kill an adult human in minutes. There's no known antidote. The only treatment is hours of heart massage and artificial respiration until the poison has worked its way out of your system.

They are cute, being brown or yellow in color but the blue rings are visible only when they are about to attack.

Once bitten, you will feel nauseous. Your vision becomes hazy. Within seconds you are blind. You loose your sense of touch. You cannot speak or swallow. Three minutes later you are paralysed and unable to breath.

Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)
The Blue Screen of Death (BSOD, bluescreen, or stop error) is an error screen displayed by certain operating systems, most notably Microsoft Windows, after encountering a critical system error.

Bluescreens can be caused by poorly-written device drivers, faulty memory, a corrupt Registry, or incompatible DLLs.

Bluescreens have been present in all Windows-based operating systems since Windows 3.1; OS/2 and MS-DOS suffered the Black Screen of Death, and early builds of Windows Vista displayed the Red Screen of Death after a boot loader error.

This is how it appears on your computer monitor:

Blue Nymphs??
Unknown insect taken at Singapore. Is it believed to be the young leaf-footed bug. They are not beetles, and they don't bite - they suck plant fluids.

What is it about blue?
Blue is calming. It can be strong and steadfast or light and friendly. Almost everyone likes some shade of the color blue.

It is a natural color, from the blue of the sky, blue is a universal color. The cool, calming effect of blue makes time pass more quickly and it can help you sleep.

In many diverse cultures blue is significant in religious beliefs, brings peace, or is believed to keep the bad spirits away.

A deep royal blue conveys richness and perhaps even a touch of superiority. Navy blue is almost black and is a bit warmer than lighter blues. Combine a light and dark blue to convey trust and truthfulness — banker's colors. Although blue is a year-round color, pastel blues, especially along with pinks and pale yellows suggest Springtime while deep blue is a colder weather color.
